everywhere

The blaze of the Sun

scorching my naked eyes

& my mind wanders far away

as I wait on the bus-stop!

My mind wandering 

but my heart fixed,

to an image, on a thought

that's laiden only of you.

The more my heart beats

the greater goes the intensity

the desire to bloom in your garden

& feel blissed!

The more my eyes stop on you,

the more my heart stares you

it skips a beat with a touch

that's passionate & so much You!

Would it be wrong to say,

to express

to disclose in my words

how much I crave for,

how much I desire

that 'imprint'!

It does not leave us anywhere...LOVE! It follows our thoughts. I penned these words yesterday as I was waiting for a bus in hot Sun. But a thought was my shade, soothing and so my own.

आज फिर!

पलकों में ख्वाब लिए

आज इंतज़ार किया,

उस पैगाम का जो आया ही नहीं,

तुम्हारी साँसों में मेरा नाम नहीं

शायद आज!

आँखें बंद कर देखा मैंने

गहरे समंदर का विस्तार

याद किया नीले आकाश वाला

तुम्हारा वो प्यार, मगर बादल

बरसे आज और मेरी आँखें भी!

दिल पर हाथ रख मैंने

महसूस किया धडकनों का पागल वेग,

भाग रही थी बेतहाशा तुम्हे खोजती हुई

मगर नहीं आये तुम,

कई और दिनों की ही तरह.

पागल नादान धड़कने रूठी बैठी है अब!

नीले समंदर और नीले आकाश

में तस्वीर है तुम्हारी और तुम्हारा रंग भी,

चाहकर भी नहीं छूट पाता

जीवन में यही रंग बचा हो जैसे,

बाकी सारे रंगों से जीवन अनजान है अब शायद!

आज फिर इंतज़ार ही नाम

था मेरा दूसरा ,

बस इतना बता दो,

तुम्हारा क्या नाम था? 

Happy Valentine's Shona!

Love comes in many forms,
many shapes
n many sizes!

One cold winter morning
turned out a special Valentine-
four years ago,
You came into my world
and warmed me up with your presence,
with your just being there!

With shining eyes
and lips that curled in smiles every second,
you captivated me
once and forever,
for I knew I have found eternal love
in loving you!

Four years now,
and I know I dont need
a special day to say 'I Love You',
Its a secret little known to others
we speak it all the time,
every day so many times!

Love is in being together with you,
love is a fairy tale
that you read me every day,
love is naughty when I tease you,
love is beautiful when you hug me,
love is just divine when I know you are mine!

Love is soft,
love is pink,
love lives in your little gestures,
it lives in your tiny fingers, in your toes
it breaths in the word 'mamma'
that you shout everyday, from every nook & corner
of your being!

This special poem is for my daughter, whom I lovingly call 'Shona'. She came into our lives on 14th February, four years ago and since then we have a new meaning of this date which the world celebrates as 'Valentine day' :-)

'I love you' - Should I say it today?

बाजारों दुकानों में

सज गए प्यार के साज़ो-सामान,

गुलाबी - लाल गुब्बारे

भर रहे होठों पर मुस्कान.

लगता वेलेंटाइन भी अब

जैसे एक त्योहार,

सन्देश प्यारे प्यारे

जो कहते हम है तुमसे दिल गए हार.

दिमाग में उठता एक सवाल

मन कहता लेकिन न पूछ,

प्यार का एक दिन, नफरत के हजार

क्या यह है हमारी सूझ-बूझ?

प्यार है अँधा और भरा इसमें जूनून

कैसे बाँध लू इस बंधन को दिन में एक,

जबकि जानू मैं जलते ख्वाबो-ख्वाईशों

के दीये हर पल हर सांस में अनेक.

तुमसे जुड़ कर लगता मुझे

जैसे प्यार ही जिंदगी की सीरत,

हर क्षण, हर लम्हा

जैसे हो बढती हुई तुम्हारी जरुरत.

प्यार एक दिन नहीं, एक हफ्ता-साल नहीं

एहसास ऐसा जो खत्म न हो कभी,

एक जन्म लगता कम मुझे

जतलाऊं बताऊँ जितना भी, कम फिर भी.

शब्द-दर-शब्द पिरोती जाऊं

जैसे हो माला 'उसकी',

हर मोती संग पाती जाऊं तुम्हे

जैसे हो 'उसकी' छवि-सी.

हर साँस-साँस तुम्हारा ख़याल

हर धड़कन तुम्हारी आरज़ू,

कैसे संभालूं यह मन के ज़ज्बात

तुम शब्द नहीं मेरे, बस आत्मा की जुस्तजू!

Love is not dependent on a day. The strong urge to be with that someone special, to express our feelings and emotions, to hold someone's hand, to share a hug, to light up the day with a kiss, to say kind and true words, all this does not wait for Valentine's day! Somewhere in my heart, today I am happy and I want to say 'I Love You' to the special people I love, but at the same time my mind asks me this question, why just one day, why just today? I hope my confusion is clear through this poem and my love too!!!! :-)

May God bless you with lots of love, not just today but every day.

तुम्हारी कमी...

आज यूँ ही एक ख्याल

गुजरा मेरे रास्ते से,

शायद क्यूंकि

तुम मेरे साथ नहीं आज!

ख्याल ने झाँका मेरे अंतर्मन में

पढ़ा मेरी बेचैनी को

और सोचा

क्या यह मुमकिन है

कि छूकर किसी याद को

ऐसा लगे कि जैसे मैंने छुआ हो तुम्हें ?

जब तुम्हारी कमी खलने लगती है

दुनिया अजीब सी लगती है मुझे

शायद क्यूंकि हर शख्स में तुम ही नजर आते हो

हर आवाज में तुम्हारी ही खनक होती है

और हर धड़कन में तुम्हारे नाम की ही दुआ !

क्या छूकर किसी किताब

या पन्ने को, 

या तुम्हारे छोड़े गए ग्लास को

या फिर तुम्हारी किसी तस्वीर को

क्या कम लगेगी मुझे तुम्हारी कमी,

क्या लगेगा जैसे मैंने छुआ हो तुम्हे

और तुमने भी बालों में मेरे उंगलिया फिराई हो जैसे?

नादान ख्याल है

मगर सच में सोचती हूँ ऐसा

काश किसी याद को सिरहाने रख कर सो जाऊं 

और पा जाऊं तुम्हे तब 

जब तुम्हारी कमी पूरी दुनिया

की लम्बाई, चौडाई, गहराई

से भी ज्यादा लगने लगे मुझे !

क्या यह मुमकिन है ?

चाँद और तुम!

चाँद को पाना संभव है शायद

और तुम्हे?

चाँद को छूने की ख्वाइश,

सितारों को करीब से देखने की आरजू

थी दिल में

मगर एहसास-ए-बुलंदी नहीं थी

की मुमकिन हो ऐसा,

तभी मिली मै तुमसे

और भूल गयी सब चाँद-सितारे

रम गयी तुम्हारी ख्वाइश में ऐसे

लेकिन जब आँख खुली

समझ आया

उन्हें पाना संभव है शायद

और तुम्हे?

मन का दरिया

श्वेत कमल सा रंग लिए

तुम्हारी ओर बह रहा था जोरों से,

आसमान के चाँद का अक्स

देखा करता था अपने आईने में

इठलाता था तुम्हे पाने की आस में

लेकिन जब संगीत ख़त्म हुआ और

जिंदगी ने नाच नचाया

बिन सवाल ही जवाब आया

चाँद का अक्स और चाँद खुद ही पाना

संभव है शायद

और तुम्हे?
