A Dark, Dark Place...

The fire once was ignited
Rich with flames
It made smoke
Reaching the sky...

The vastness of the blue
Painted with grey patterns
Soothed the origin,
For it wasn't dead or
dormant...

Today, the ashes reigns
dry, powdery and lifeless
Gone is the golden rage
The urge to paint the blue
What remains is a 'dark, dark place'.

  1. It is easier to surrender than resist. Don't throw away the ashes yet --the cinders might still contain the seeds of a flame.

  2. Oh Shaifali...“From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
    A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.” i just remembered these lines from Tolkien's The Fellowship of the Ring.
Just there was something that i also remember that my Dad once told me when we were faced with difficult times. Every dark tunnel has a light of hope. So i know this remaining 'dark' will see light too. :)
Don't know why but all the while i read ur composition only one word haunted me, 'Passion'. Passion goes like smoke but real love endures...that's what i kept thinking...
Were these justified thoughts Shaifali ???
